Swanton Berry Farm

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q. Can you give me some advice on growing strawberries organically? Can you send me some information on organic strawberrry production?

A. Growing delicious strawberries takes up the better part of my days. Unfortunately, I am unable to respond to all the information requests we receive. University Cooperative Extensions are great sources of information for agricultural practices.

Q. Do you have U-pick berries?

A. This year, we will be hosting four U-pick days on the farm. See "Visit the Farm" for details.

Q. Can I order SBF berries on the internet?

A. Sorry, not yet but feel free to call us at 831-469-8804 to place special orders for pick up either at our farm or one of our Bay Area Farmers’ Markets. Visit the "Special Orders" page for Farm and Market locations.

Q. Do you ship your berries?

A. Because we pick our berries when they are perfectly ripe and ready to be eaten, they do not ship very well. Visit our "How to Find Us" page to look for retail locations near you.

Q. Where can I get strawberry transplants?

A. We don't sell plant material. You need to contact a nursery such as Norcal at 530-527-6200.

Q. Where can I get an all-organic cotton SBF T-shirt?

A. We have shirts available at farmers' markets and via mail. Send us a check for $20.00 to P.O. Box 308, Davenport, CA 95017
