Our Enterprises: The Employment and Training Programs,
and Commercial Sales
Producing Revenue Generating Products
CSA and the Homeless Garden Project
For the Homeless Garden Project, and the participating households, CSA
means more than growing and buying food. For the Homeless Garden Project,
the CSA program is the major revenue source among its various enterprises.
It allows us to employ homeless persons and provide job training skills and
a work setting that is healthful and supportive.
Households participating in CSA know that they are major supporters of
the Garden's effort in employing and training homeless persons. Beyond that,
you enjoy organic produce harvested just hours before pickup, herbs, and
fresh flower bouquets. You have the opportunity to pick up your produce at a
place where it is grown, and meet the workers who take care of your
investment. You will meet two special people, Chrissi and Patrick, our
Garden staff, who are already beginning to plan for the new season.
Commercial Sales
This program sells produce and flowers direct to the public at the
weekly Farmers Market and wholesale to restaurants and natural food stores.
Women's Organic Flower Enterprise
(WOFE)
WOFE produces dried flower wreaths and bouquets and other hand made
gift items like beeswax candles, which are sold in the
WOFE retail shop in
Santa Cruz (127 Washington St.) and wholesale to gift stores across
the country. Or shop on-line at the greenmarketplace.com.
